Well, where does the time go? I just looked at my last blog entry and it was in the autumn! We had a very busy fall season and we would like to say thanks to all our guests who made it so.
There have been a few changes here at the Willows. Our faithful 1959 Willys pick up truck has become untrustworthy. The engine block which always had a small crack in it has gotten bigger and has made it undriveable. We have replaced her with a somewhat newer Jeep, a 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Modern!! We were able to get a plow for her and so we will remain open in the winter and the driveway will be free of any nasty snow.
Our other new acquisition is a 1810 grandfather clock that we received from Lisa's Mom. It is of English origin and wasn't in working condition when we received it. Brian Robertson of Bowen Barn Antiques in Stanfordville was able to repair it without any real difficulty and it is now proudly residing in our dining room. You will have to stay will us to hear the calming tic tock and the dulcet tones of the hourly chime!
On the food front, I have been keeping myself busy getting prepared for the upcoming Spring season. That means I'm grinding up corn into cornmeal and into corn flour. Cornmeal Blueberry pancakes, YUM!
